Custom Domains
Why does custom domain verification require contacting the team?
Direct verification ensures:
- Security & Identity Validation: Prevents malicious actors from claiming hostnames they do not own.
- Dedicated SSL Provisioning: Our team ensures TLS certificates are properly issued without downtime.
- Optimized DNS Routing: Validates that edge propagation is active globally before traffic is routed.
How long does domain verification take?
Once you configure your DNS records and email contact@golink.buzz, our engineering team typically completes verification within 2 to 12 hours.
Can I connect multiple custom domains to one organization?
Yes. Pro and Enterprise organizations can register multiple branded domains and designate a primary default domain.
Links & Redirection
Can I change a link's destination after sharing it?
Yes! You can edit the destination URL of any active link from your GoLink Console at any time. Existing short URLs and printed QR codes will immediately route to the new address.
Can I temporarily pause a link without deleting it?
Yes. You can toggle any link's status between Active and Inactive. While inactive, visitors see a polite campaign paused screen (/link-inactive). When reactivated, normal redirection resumes instantly.
Are redirects 301 or 302?
GoLink uses 302 Temporary Redirects by default. This ensures that every single click is routed through the GoLink analytics engine to log accurate geo, device, and referrer insights.
Analytics & Tracking
Are bots and crawlers counted in analytics?
No. GoLink actively filters out search bots, uptime checkers, and social media preview crawlers (e.g., Slackbot, Twitterbot, Googlebot) using modern User-Agent heuristics. Only genuine human clicks appear in your dashboard metrics.
How long is click event data retained?
Detailed event records (individual click logs) are retained for 90 days under an automatic database cleanup policy. Aggregate click totals and high-level link statistics are preserved indefinitely.
